About HGC

We have a new name! We are now the Highland Garden Club, formerly the Highland Beautification Committee. We are a group of volunteers that design, plant and maintain plantings in various locations throughout the Township. The Township allocates funds for the materials and the committee also raises money to fund their efforts. The largest fundraiser is the annual plant sale. See the information below for the details about this year's sale.

We are always looking for new members! If you are interested in becoming a member, please attend one of our meetings or send us an email with your contact information. Meetings are held at the Highland Senior Center located at 209 N. John St.

Past Projects

Highland Station House
All beds were cleaned up and permanent edging was installed in 2016.

Township Offices Entrance:
The main entrance to the Township Offices and the foundation plants were renovated in 2015.

M59 Median:
Phase two of the median project was completed in August, 2015.  This was a very large project in which involvement was provided from all members of HGC!  Thank you to all motorists that provided positive feedback and expressed appreciation while we were working on the project.  The plants selected for the bed included: Baby Blue Eyes Spruce, Dwarf Fountain Grass, Karl Foerster Grass, Siberian Iris, Knockout Rose, Limelight Hydrangea, Sea Green Juniper and Purple Coneflower.  As part of the project, the existing trees in the median were pruned and mulched.
